Traditionally, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a holiday for family get-togethers. This year, several prisoners were lucky enough to share this special day with their relatives.

On Thursday afternoon, the Xicheng district jail was crowded with people eager to visit their incarcerated relations, Beijing Morning Post reports.

Tang, who came to see her nephew, expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the visit and praised the measure as a great humanitarian gesture.

The Haidian district jail also held a "Mid-Autumn Evening" the same night, allowing well-behaved prisoners to spend time with their families.
