A Peking University graduate who surprised the public with his humble butcher's job has decided to enter into a joint venture with an American investor, reports Shanghai-based Wenhui Bao.

Lu Buxuan became something of an overnight media star when newspapers from all over the country dogged him for more stories following a report revealing the contrast between his illustrious university qualifications and his current job as a butcher running a 20-square metre shop.

Since his plight was exposed, a number of universities in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province have contacted him, wanting to hire him as a professor.

Lu initially decided to start teaching at the Xi'an University of Engineering Science & Technology.

But he recently changed his mind after an American company suggested building up a nationwide chain of stores selling meat and other foods with him.
