Journalists from 14 major Chinese news website  participated in the launching ceremony for a news touron Thursday in  North China's Hebei Province,  Shijiazhuang, the province's capital city.

The activity, co-organized by the Information Office of the State Council and the provincial government, is aimed to promote the image of the province, known for its burgeoning medicine industry and tourism.

Fu Shuangjian, vice-governer of Hebei,  attended the ceremony and briefed journalists the province's economic conditions and blueprints.

Provincial officials of tourist and technological sectors also participated in the meeting.

Journalists from official websites of Xinhuanet.com, People.com.cn and influential commercial website of Sina.com.cn and Sohu joined the 7-day activity, which will later shift to province's industrial city of Baoding and Langfang.
