Waterless toilets serve high-tech fair ( 2003-10-09 13:24) (China Daily)
Waterless toilets have been installed outside China Hi-tech Fair Exhibition
Centre to showcase a technology with great market potential in China, reports
Shenzhen Commercial Daily.
The mobile toilets - similar to those used in most aircraft - are designed by
Shenzhen Longcheng Hi-tech Environmental Protection Co.
Almost no water is needed as waste is flushed into treatment tanks through a
"pressurized foam sucking" facility.
The company won the right to operate the mobile toilets outside the
exhibition centre through public bidding, which is like having a long-term
display stall, said Zhang She, a director.
With serious water shortage in many parts of the country, China has a huge
market for waterless toilets, he added.
