Three thieves were caught when they unwittingly tried to sell their stolen goods back to the original owner, reports Beijing Evening News.

Someone broke into Lu's small printing and copy shop, stealing his laptop computer and some other equipment.

Several days later, as he strolled along Dabeiyao Street, three young people approached him and asked if he wanted to buy a cheap laptop computer. Lu was surprised to see that the model they were selling was identical to the one he had just lost.

Lu took his time looking over the laptop, pretending he was interested in buying it, until he was certain that it was in fact his. The three thieves were arrested after Lu called police.
