Modelling contest goes to the dogs

The first team of pet dog models in China will be selected following a
contest to be held on Sunday, Huaxi Metropolis News reports.
Over the past weekend, many dog owners signed up their animals for the
contest scheduled for October 26.
The top 40 dogs selected from the preliminary round will take part in fashion
and talent competitions at the final. The 12 highest-scoring pets will then be
introduced as the model dog team.
According to the organizer, the event is meant to showcase outstanding dogs
as well as provide an opportunity for pet owners to meet and exchange views.
Eight domestic pet product makers will reportedly be present at the final to
select "spokesmodels" from among the winning pooches.
