Park 90% responsible for boy's death
( 2003-10-23 15:53) (China Daily)

A park in Zibo, Shandong Province, has been ordered to pay 84,154 yuan (US$10,164) to the family of a boy who was killed when a cement statue in the park fell on him, Luzhong Morning Post reports.

Gao Haoze and his grandfather visited Yangmingyuan Park on July 12.

The boy was playing with another child amongst three statues of deer on the park's lawn when one of the figures toppled and fell on him. Gao was pronounced dead on the way to hospital.

The court ruled that the park's administrative arm was 90 per cent responsible for the boy's death, while his grandfather was also judged partly at fault.
