Attempt to bribe official fails

Five men who tried to bribe a
public security officer into letting them distribute advertisements in a
residential community are now awaiting punishment, reports Beijing Evening News.
The five middle-aged men were caught distributing ads to households by an
officer responsible for the Yulin Dongli residential area's public security.
They bought a carton of cigarettes on the way to the public security office
and offered the cigarettes and 100 yuan (US$12) to the officer.
He declined to take the bribe and reported the men to the civil
administrative bureau.
