Zhan Shu's teammate Yang Yu, who won the women's 400m, 200m and 100m freestyle at the Games, grasped her fourth gold when she beat Tang Jingzhi in the 800m freestyle with a time of 8:38.94. Tang clocked 8:39.48 for the silver while Fang Shu brought Shenyang a bronze in 8:39.71.
