A 16-year-old boy from Anhui Province who robbed a woman to fund a trip to "heavenly Hangzhou" only made it as far as the local police station, Shanghai Evening Post reports.

Lao Wu, a patron at the restaurant where Huang worked, asked the boy to accompany him to Hangzhou one August day.

Huang said he wanted to go but didn't have any money.

Lao Wu then told Huang about a woman boss who always passed a certain road at the same time each day on her bicycle.

He said Huang could easily grab her bag from the handlebars.

Huang stole the woman's bag that evening but was caught by police as he ran away.
