Zoo serves animals cold-prevention food ( 2003-11-06 17:56) (China Daily)
Shenzhen's Wild Animal Zoo is feeding cold-prevention food to its animals now
that temperatures are dropping, reports Shenzhen Evening News.
Sweetened medicinal herbal drinks are given to apes, as they sneeze and
suffer from runny noses like humans do. Pureed garlic is mixed with corn for the
birds and green onions are added to fodder for herbivorous animals.
Oranges and other fruits rich in vitamin C are also made available to animals
that find them appealing.
