Queiroz confesses misplay for Real defeat
( 2003-11-10 14:19) (Xinhua)

Carlos Queiroz, coach of Real Madrid, admitted failure on tactics after the reigning champions went down 4-1 at Sevilla on Sunday in the Primera Liga.

Queiroz said he accept part of blame for the dramatic setback, and the players, who had done all they could, should not be heavily accused.

Real, with both the regular centre-back taking the places of suspended Michel Salgado and injured Roberto Carlos, committed an own goal at the 4th minute by the inexperienced Ruben and found themselves 3-0 down in the opening 15 minutes, before Javi Casquero driving home a fourth at the 37th minute for Sevilla.

Ronaldo pulled one back 10 minutes into the second half but failed to spark a heroic comeback. The sending off of Guti six minutes from time completed a miserable night for Carlos Queiroz's side.
