Public can sit in at legislative meeting

Locals are being given the opportunity to sit in on the regular meeting of
the Standing Committee of the Shanghai People's Congress - the city's top
legislative panel - today, Jiefang Daily reports.
Up to 15 local residents will be allowed to listen in on the meeting, in
which the revision of the Shanghai urban planning regulation will be discussed.
Since last week, when the committee announced that the regular meeting would be
opened to the public, hundreds of people have applied to
attend.
