Security guard targets employer
( 2003-11-19 16:44) (China Daily)

A security guard who made away with 600,000 yuan (US$75,000) of his company's money has been charged with stealing by the Haizhu District People's Procuratorate in Guangzhou, reports Southern Metro News.

The guard, surnamed Fu, worked for a construction company in Guangzhou and often helped with cash deliveries.

A motorcycle cabby, who he knew as "Xiao Xiang", talked him into the theft plan, he said.

When told to escort an accountant withdrawing 1 million yuan (US$120,820) from a bank on October 13, Fu decided to take action.

While Xiao Xiang waited on a motorcycle along the road, Fu feigned illness and begged to be let out of the company's car.

Then he grabbed one bag containing 600,000 yuan in cash and fled with Xiao Xiang on the motorcycle.

Fu was captured by police along with most of his 450,000-yuan (US$54,370) share on October 17. Xiao Xiang is still at large.
