Park pays for visitor's snake bite

A tourist who was bitten by a snake while visiting a park in Shantou in
eastern Guangdong was recently awarded 5,281.50 yuan (US$638) in compensation,
reports Guangzhou Daily.
The payment included compensation for mental anguish equalling 1,200 yuan
(US$145), while the remainder covered her medical fees.
The woman, surnamed Shang, was bitten while visiting Zhongshan Park in
Shantou together with her husband in June.
Shang was immediately sent to a local hospital for treatment.
She filed a lawsuit against the park after failing to reach an agreement on
compensation last month.
