A man suspected of stealing goods worth more than 200,000 yuan (US$24,000) via the Internet over the course of a year confessed to police on Wednesday, reports Beijing Youth Daily.

On November 20, an online sales company alerted police in the Xuanwu District that it had lost almost 220,000 yuan (US$26,600) and asked officers to help them find the culprit, who was probably a member of the firm's own staff.

After an investigation, police suspected Li, who had worked for the firm for more than three years. Li later confessed that he had changed some customers' account information last July and had been buying goods for himself since then.
