She wanted to spare son a 'tough life'

A woman from North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was sentenced to
life imprisonment yesterday by Beijing No 2 Intermediate People's Court for
cruelly killing her four-year-old son, Beijing Star Daily reports.
Wang Li, 24, was in the process of divorcing her husband who works as a
manual labourer in Beijing because she couldn't endure the poverty..
"I did not want my son to have a hard life after I divorced with my husband,
so I had to kill him," Wang said.
She gave the boy a beverage laced with sleeping pills and strangled him with
a quilt.
