Demand on rise for personal bodyguards

With rich people increasingly
facing the threat of kidnapping, blackmail, robbery and even murder, there is a
great demand on the mainland for bodyguards, Beijing Youth Daily reports.
According to a bodyguard surnamed Xia, there are more than 5,000 people
working as bodyguards in Guangzhou.
The bodyguards are mostly employed by movie stars, entrepreneurs and
successful businessmen, he said.
Besides protecting their bosses, they also serve as secretaries, assistants
or chauffeurs, said Xia.
