A migrant worker from Hubei Province was found dead at a worksite in Beijing on Saturday after demanding his long-delayed salary from his boss, Beijing News reports.

Hu Weiguo, 48, had been working in construction companies for almost 30 years, but his hard work wasn't rewarded since his bosses often deliberately defaulted on pay, according to his grieving wife Jin Qihui.

Jin waited for Hu outside the worksite the whole morning, only to find his body in the afternoon.

"My husband must have been murdered since he had no reason to kill himself,'' she suspected.

Police are investigating the circumstances of his death.
