Failed suicide attempt in distant city

A university student surnamed Hu from Qingdao of Shandong Province came all
the way to Shanghai to kill himself in the Huangpu River last Thursday, but
ended up calling for help before he was swarmed by the freezing water, reports
Shanghai Youth Daily.
After he was saved by the police, he said he suffered too much pressure from
his study in Qingdao Architectural Engineering College and complained his father
only gave him 400 yuan (US$48) pocket money every month, which is not enough to
make ends meet.
