Blind woman gains college admission

With her shivering fingers stroking the braille on the admission notice from
a college " the first of its kind in China " a blind woman in Beijing was
excited on Saturday to fulfill her long-cherished dream of entering a college,
Beijing Morning Post reports.
Wang Jingmei, 33, has been admitted to the Special Education College of
Beijing Union University after passing the National College Entrance Examination
for the Grown-ups in November.
She was among the first batch of people admitted by colleges after the nation
started a college examination specially for the disabled last
year.
