    Shipi Lane, one of the most famous lanes in the town of Xitang, is 68m long and 1m wide. The lane is made of 216 pieces of stones, which are as thin as skin. Thus local residents named it as Shipi (the skin of the stone). The lane is also described as "One thread of Sky" in Xitang as people can only see a thread of the sky in the lane.     A 65-years-old man surnamed Yang shows the ancient ways of making a button from shells in Xitang. Yang has spent more than 40 years making buttons by hand. The town, with a long history of producing buttons, is a major button production base in China.     A tunnel under the West Lake opened to traffic on Wednesday in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, after 300 days of construction. The south-north tunnel is 1,269 metres long, including 800 metres under the lake. The tunnel is expected to relieve much of the traffic congestion around the lake, a famous scenic spot. More than half of the village residents voted down Cai Jishuan's performance, as Cai allegedly sought personal gain by taking advantage of his position. The acting head was then dismissed from his post according to the Organic Law of Villagers' Committees of the People's Republic of China.
