Nong Duc Manh, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), left Sunday morning for Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, to continue his five-day visit to China.

Manh arrived in Beijing last Friday at the invitation of Jiang Zemin, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chinese president. This is Manh's first visit to China since he assumed the current post.

During his stay in Beijing, Jiang and Manh held talks on a wide range of issues. Other Chinese leaders including Li Peng, Zhu Rongji, Li Ruihuan and Hu Jintao, also met him.
