To tune up for the World Cup qualifiers and the Asian Cup next year, China's men's national soccer team will play its first international friendly against Chile on August 20.
Yang Yimin, assistant director of the Chinese football association, said on Thursday that China has already fixed its warm-ups schedule prior to the World Cup qualifying tournament to be started from next February.
The match against Chile is the first international for the Chinese team after the outbreak of SARS.
After the Grade A match, the Chinese nationals will travel to the United States two days later for a series of warm-ups against the national squads of Costa Rica, Salvador, and two U.S. clubs.
