National soccer team leaves for Hongkong for World Cup qualifier

Chinese national soccer team left for Hongkong Sunday, March 28, 2004 for a World Cup Group 4 qualifying game on March 31.

Chinese head coach Arie Haan announced the 20-man squad Sunday morning for the match against Chinese Hongkong.

Playmaker Sun Jihai, who plays at English Premier League side Manchester City, will get to Hongkong on Monday to join the squad.

Following is the squad:

Goalkeeper: Liu Yunfei, Li Jian

Defenders: Li Weifeng, Yang Pu, Wei Xin, Xu Yunlong, Zhou Haibing, Liu Jindong, Hao Wei

Midfielders: Zheng Zhi, Zheng Bin, Xiao Zhanbo, Zhao Junzhe, Tao Wei, Zhao Xuri, Sun Jihai

Forwards: Zhao Yuning, Hao Haidong, Li Yi, Wang Peng
