The Magic put McGrady on the injured list Tuesday as a result of his left knee tendinitis, ending his season with the Magic out of the playoff picture.

Orlando has the worst record in the NBA at 19-56 and with just seven regular season games remaining, the decision was made to shut him down for the rest of the year to avoid risking any permanent damage.

McGrady is averaging 28 points per game this season and has sat out the past two games. Orlando has seven games remaining.

McGrady will likely still win his second straight scoring title. Sacramento's Peja Stojakovic ranks second with 24.7 points.

Philadelphia 76ers Allen Iverson announced Tuesday he would also miss the rest of the regular season with his right knee injury.
