Shenzhen to host high-tech fair

China's Shenzhen, a booming city of Guangdong Province, will host a top international high-tech fair from October 12 to 17, local official said in Beijing Friday.

The Sixth China high-tech Fair, co-sponsored by 10 governmental agencies such as the Ministry of Commerce, includes technology and products exhibition and trade, high-level forums and talents exchange, according to Shenzhen Mayor Li Hongzhong.

The exhibition covers information technology, biology, new material, modern agriculture, computer, telecommunication and network.

Located in the newly completed Shenzhen Exhibition Center, the total fair area will reach 130,000 square meters, 2 times larger than the previous ones.

The fifth such fair, held in Shenzhen last year, attracted delegations from 42 countries and regions, 24,000 visitors and recorded a total trade and contractual volume of US$12 billion, Li said.
