Three people were missing after 32 people jumped off a pleasure-boat when it caught fire Saturday night in the capital city of south China's Guangdong Province.

The incident occurred on 9:30 p.m., when the owner of a restaurant located on a reservoir in Guangzhou's Taihe Town organized a group of dinners for a tour of the reservoir in a wooden pleasure-boat that he had made illegally.

Without a license, the boatman operated inappropriately, which caused the boat engine to break into fire, said local police sources, adding that among those who jumped off the boat, 29 had been rescued.
