Agent confirms Robinho "very close" to Real Madrid

The agent of Santos star Robinho has revealed he is "very close to signing for Real Madrid".

The Brazil international is expected to put pen to paper over an agreement to join Real next season.

The youngster's agent, Juan Figger, revealed: "We're dealing with Real Madrid and we have not negotiated with any other Spanish club. It is not our style to deal with the neighbours of an interested team and, if we had dealt with Barcelona, we would not have done so with Real Madrid and vice versa.

"It's not possible that he joins Real Madrid in January because they already have three non-Europeans. An agreement cannot be set this week because of this.

"Madrid aren't the only club interested, but they have conducted everything by the book and we are very happy speaking with them."
