Adelaide United's China international striker Shengqing Qu was involved in a car accident on Saturday.

Qu was hit by a car at McLaren Vale on Saturday but, remarkably, was not seriously injured. He suffered concussion, cuts and bruises.

Eyewitnesses were stunned the 30-year-old striker was not killed when he was hit on Main Rd, McLaren Vale, about 6pm.

United media manager Dom Rinaldo said Qu was "okay" but was shaken by the incident.

"He has no broken bones, but he's got a few bruises and a mild concussion. He was in Flinders Medical Centre overnight . . . but he is okay," Rinaldo told The Advertiser.

A police spokesman said the driver immediately stopped and checked on Qu's welfare. The driver returned a zero blood alcohol reading and would not face any charges.
