While people are confident and optimistic about the government's competence to organize the Games, their knowledge about it are surprisingly poor.

Only a quarter of Beijinger could remember it was in 2001 that Chinese capital successfuly landed the right to hold the Games. The percentage comes even lower when people are able to answer Beijing's Olympic Games is the 29th in its over 100-year history.

But those are nothing compared to the fact that a mere 13.5 per cent of Beijingers know the newly-launched slogan of Beijing Olympic Games - "One World One Dream".

The slogan was just launched on June 26 by Li Changchun, a standing member of the Plitical Bureau, at a grand ceremony in Beijing.

"It comes from the wisdom of thousands. It expresses the lofty dream of both Chinese and overseas to share beautiful homeland, fruits of civilization and to work for better future. It shows the hearts of 1.3 billion Chinese to build a peaceful and better world", Li said.

Answers to other issues asked about in the survey prompt government to improve the city's traffic, tourist administration and infrastructure construction and public facilities.

The survey was conducted by Beijing's Zhongguan Economic Survey Company ans was based on 200 Beijingers who lived in Beijing for at least one year.
