Nikolaos Zizis led the Greeks with 23 points and Lazaros Papadopulous added 19 and 10 rebounds to hand them a quarter-final encounter with Russia.

Earlier on Tuesday, Croatia beat Italy 74-66 to set up a clash with Spain for a berth in the last four while Germany defeated Turkey 66-57 thanks to a heroic performance by their star NBA forward Dirk Nowitzki, who scored 33 points and collected 10 rebounds.

Germany trailed 34-27 at halftime as their poor offence that had plagued them throughout the tournament threatened to end their challenge, but Nowitzki stepped up to score 23 points in the second half and lift his team almost single-handedly into a quarter-final meeting with Slovenia.
