Meng Lili wins gold for China in wrestling worlds
BUDAPEST, September 30 -- Meng Lili, 25-year-old Chinese girl from Shandong province, won in the women's 67kg category at world wrestling championships on Friday in Budapest. "It is a challenge to win in the 67kg category. I am 64kg and I used to compete in the 63kg category. And I found that I am strong," Meng Lili told Xinhua. Another Chinese girl Wang Jiao got the fifth place in the women's 72kg category on Friday. The US Iris Smith defeated the famous Japanese Hamaguchi Kioko and won the gold in the women's 72kg category. Iranian Hamid Sourianreyhanpour won in the men' s Greco-Roman, 55 kg category. All the women's competitions have finished. Chinese team got the second place of women's freestyle with 2 golds, 2 silvers, 1 bronze and the fifth place in women's 72kg category. And Japanese team won the first place. About 700 wrestlers from nearly 100 countries and regions are competing in the world Greco-Roman, freestyle and women wrestling championships which run from September 26-October 2 in the Hungarian capital.
