Federer hasn't lost a match en route to winning the season-ending event in the last two years. He is the only survivor among the top six ranked players still in the tournament.

Second-ranked Rafael Nadal and No. 5 Andre Agassi withdrew with injuries on Monday. Both were in the Gold Group.

No. 3 Andy Roddick, No. 4 Lleyton Hewitt and Australian Open champion Marat Safin pulled out before the tournament.

Sixth-ranked Coria was out of contention before his loss to Federer. Coria finished 0-3.

Nalbandian, ranked 12th coming into the tournament, is aiming to finish in the Top 10 for the third consecutive season. He had to cancel a planned fishing trip when he was called in to replace Roddick -- out with a back problem -- in the eight-man field.
