Terry's driving layup two minutes later gave the Mavs a 63-58 lead, ending a wild sequence in which he passed to Erick Dampier, who missed an inside shot. Terry lost his headband in the scuffle for the rebound, then recovered and drove for a layup.

Dallas never trailed again, but the Rockets caught up at 86-all on Anderson's 15-footer with 6:31 left. That ended a 12-5 run was started by Head hitting 3-pointer and then scoring another basket.

Chris Bosh led Toronto with 23 points, but missed his eighth consecutive double-double by grabbing only eight rebounds. Mike James had 13 points for Toronto and Matt Bonner scored 12.

Phoenix didn't break open the game until late in the fourth quarter. Trailing 77-76, the Suns ran off 12 straight points, six each by Marion and Nash, for an 88-77 lead.

Both teams shot poorly in the first half and combined for 21 turnovers. The Suns, one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the league, were 0-for-12 from that range but still led 42-38 at the break.
