Huang Mengfu -- Vice-chairman of 10th CPPCC National Committee

The following is the biographical sketch of Huang Mengfu, who was just elected vice-chairperson of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC):

Huang Mengfu, male, born in January 1944, of ethnic Han group, a native of Shanghai, member of China Democratic National Construction Association (CDNCA), and member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he started to work in Sept. 1967 upon his graduation from the specialty of iron and steel metallurgy from the Beijing Iron and Steel Institute.

A senior engineer and served as vice-mayor of Nanjing city, Jiangsu province.

Studying in the major of iron & metallurgy in the Metallurgy Department in the Beijing Iron and Steel Institute in 1962-1968, working as a worker, section chief at the Nanjing Iron and Steel Plant in Jiangsu province in 1968-1976, a technician, engineer and deputy section chief of Iron Smelting Subplant of the Nanjing Ironand Steel Plant in 1976-1983, and deputy plant director and senior engineer of the Nanjing Iron and Steel Plant in 1988-1992.

Elected vice-mayor of Nanjing city, vice-chairman and chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the CDNCA and chairman of the CDNCA Nanjing Municipal Committee in 1992-1997, vice-chairman of the CDNCA, chairman of the Standing Committee Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), and chairman of CDNCA Nanjing City Committee in 1998-2001; chairman of All-China Industry and Commerce Federation, and vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu NPC Provincial Committee in 2002-February 2003; and chairman of All-China Industry and Commerce Federation in February 2003 till today.

Member of 8th CPPCC National Committee and member of the Standing Committee of 9th CPPCC National Committee.
