Foreign trade of high-tech products surge

China handled US$92.5 billion of imports and exports of high-tech products during the first four months of this year, a rise of 50.6 percent year-on-year and accounting for 28 percent of the nation's foreign trade in the corresponding period.

The total high-tech product trade volume included US$46.9 billion in imports, up 39.9 percent year-on-year, and US$45.6 billion in exports, up 63.8 percent, according to statistics from the Commerce Ministry.

In April alone, the country exported US$12.6 billion worth of high-tech products, up 55.7 percent on a yearly basis, with imports growing by 40 percent to US$13.4 billion.
