Are Chinese selfish?
freeman  Updated: 2004-06-04 09:39

Somebody suggested in an above thread that "a good number of the islanders in Taiwan don't want to be part of China", and deemed that we mainlanders are "selfish" because we refuse to let the island go. my answer is: when national unity and security, the ultimate goal and glory of a people, is concerned, you cannot judge it by "selfish" or "selfless".

If that good number of islanders don't want to be part of China, okay, just go away, to America or elsewhere. Taiwan is china's territory, if you don't want to be part of it, just get out! Isn't that simple? I knew prior to July 1, 1997, quite a few of Hongkongers chose to leave the city, fine, just go way!

If all those islanders who do not want to be part of China and they all choose to leave, then our goal of peaceful reunification will be realized. See, war is avoided!
