ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia: The Interior Ministry says that a police station in the province of Ingushetia in Russia's restive North Caucasus has been hit by an explosion, and there appeared to be casualties.
She said an as yet unknown number of people were killed and wounded in the explosion early Monday.
Ingushetia, which borders Chechnya to the west, has been rocked by shootings, bombings and other attacks targeting police and government officials.
The province's Kremlin-appointed president, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, was badly wounded in a bombing in June.
