Making of the travel bag, Sharon Stone and Silvia Venturini, Fendi in Rome
Despite hearing rumours that the industry was superficial and bitchy, Stone, 48, insists she was touched by the generosity and charitable behaviour of the people involved.
She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "The fashion world is not superficial.
Fendi were amazing to do what they did. I'm very proud that amidst the beauty and fashion are real people who get up and do things."
The Casino actress also insists she is fully committed to her charity work and doesn't get involved to raise her own profile.
She added: "People often assume that because you are a celebrity your life is by definition very glamorous and superficial. I see things that no one has any idea about, but it's a huge part of what drives me."
