A ceremony on December 10 saw the Tajikistan Embassy present two unique works of ornamental art known as "kundal", made in original style by Tajik masters, to China’s Diplomatic Residence Compound at an event attended by Jiang Qi(middle), executive deputy director general of the Beijing Diplomatic Service Bureau, Zhang Yue(left), general manager of Beijing Housing Service Corporation for Diplomatic Missions and Liu Yong, vice manager of Beijing Housing Service Corporation for Diplomatic Missions. Tajik ambassador Rashid Alimov(right) gave a detailed introduction of the origin and history of the kundal as an important art form. More and more styles of architecture are using this rich ornamental painting to decorate the interior of buildings, the ambassador said, adding that the gift is to give thanks for the support and service of the Diplomatic Service Bureau and the Beijing Housing Service Corporation for Diplomatic Missions. "I hope it will decorate the new office building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and will be another symbol of the strong, indestructible and eternal friendship between the Tajik and Chinese people", said the ambassador. Tajikistan is one of the most important neighboring countries to China, and also a vital partner in the Belt and Road Initiative. The stable development of bilateral economic and cultural relationships is mutually beneficial to the people of the two countries. |
