Since her Spice Girl days in girl band garb, Victoria Beckham's fashion sense has evolved to the extent she's penned her own style bible and is a designer in her own right. So when organisers were looking for judges to join a panel at London's Graduate Fashion Week they felt the footballer's wife would be the perfect choice. "She's very interested in fashion, beyond just wearing it," explained chairman Terry Mansfield. "I wanted her to find out more about what students here go through to get a degree in fashion."

Wearing a monochrome mini, the mum-of-three joined fellow judges including US Harper's Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey and Lanvin's artistic director Alber Elbaz at the catwalk extravaganza in London's Battersea Park on Wednesday.

"It's been fantastic," she said. "Such an experience to be here and to be a judge. The talent is phenomenal. I've had so much fun." She presented the show's top prize, worth ¡ê20,000, which was shared by two students - Nicolas Thomas for his utility sportswear and Jasper Chadprajong for his kitsch knitwear.

The event, which showcases young British design talent and attracts fashion scouts from across the globe, was supported by an enthusiastic audience that included Rod Stewart's daughter Kimberley, British model Sophie Anderton and flamboyant veteran designer Zandra Rhodes.
