Exit-entry flow at Hefei Airport surges
Updated: 2013-07-10

During the first half of 2013, a total of 156,600 passengers and 1,322 flights entering or departing have been checked by the Hefei border inspection station, increasing by 37.4 percent and 26 percent year-on–year, respectively.

It is expected that travelers entering or departing through Hefei Port will reach 400,000 in 2013. In recent years, the exit-entry flow at Hefei Airport has been increasing rapidly. The surge in flow is due to the increase of flights from Hefei to Thailand and Jeju this year and the opening of Xinqiao International Airport in May.

In addition, Hefei Xinqiao International Airport released data of its total passenger flow for the past month. From May 30, when the airport was put into service, to June 30, the airport handled 4,824 flights carrying 519,754 passengers in total, a year-on-year growth of 20.8 percent and 21.6 percent, respectively.
