Sichuan Xiangyun General Aviation Co recently came to an agreement with Wenjiang’s government that a general aviation base could be built in 2015, Sichuan Online reported.
Wang Hong, president of Xiangyun, said that the company would sign three major cooperation contracts at the 15th Western China International Fair, one of which would be a cooperation with Wenjiang’s government to build a general aviation base. The base is expected to be completed in 2015 and gradually mature over three years.
“I hope that the general aviation base can make Wenjiang into another Oshkosh, the place where EAA AirVenture is hosted. Aviation enthusiasts from all over the world will gather in Wenjiang with their own aircraft. Also, an airplane flying experiencing center, a flying-themed club, hotels and nearby horse race courses would make the base a more attractive and ideal gathering place. It is a good way to relax and boost the local economy at the same time,” said Wang.
