New Year concert held in Mangshi

With beautiful music and shining lights, a grand concert was held in Mangshi Hall of Southwest China’s Dehong prefecture on Dec 30 to celebrate the coming of the New Year.

The concert began with Swan Lake, a much-loved ballet by Tchaikovsky frequently staged all over the world. A series of other world-famous songs were also performed. The climax of the concert came when the solo there is a beautiful place was performed.

Cai Sihong, secretary of Mangshi’s CPC Committee, attended the concert. Most of the performances were made by the Kunming Nie Er Symphony Orchestra, of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The title is taken from the late Yunnan composer Nie Er, who is most famous for composing the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.
