Mangshi opens first 3D movie theater

A luxury 3D movie theater recently started operation after a year of construction in Mangshi, Dehong prefecture. The theater, jointly built by Yunnan Films Distribution Company Ltd and Dehong Folk Dances Troupe, is the first of its kind in the area.

"The pictures are clear and smooth, and the sound is terrific. I did not expect that I could watch the latest films simultaneously released in the big cities," said a university student who recently returned to the city for the holidays.

The theater has the most advanced digital projection system in the world and the most up to date 3D projection system in China. The venue also provides an elegant environment and hospitable services.

It has two standardized halls and a VIP room, which have the capacity to host 436 people. The big hall is home to the province’s second largest screen, offering a unique way of viewing 3D images.

In addition, the films shown in the theater will be provided by the South China Film Corporation under China Film Group Corporation. Their rich resources will enable the audience to watch blockbusters released at same time around the country.
