A member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference's (CPPCC) National Committee has proposed that the government increase market controls, with different provinces devising policies suited to their own situation.

Huang Qisen made the suggestion at the 12th CPPCC's 2nd Session, where he said governments and markets should make a clear distinction in supervision and that government should reduce its intervention in enterprise operations and respect the market law, while making an effort to create a better environment for enterprise development.

Real estate, Huang pointed out, is one example of this, where government needs to focus on supervision and affordable housing and let the market deal with the other problems. And, because the real estate market can vary in supply and demand, the various provinces really need various controls and policies suited to their situation to promote the healthy development of their different real estate markets.
