According to incomplete statistics, from December 1st to 17th, over 220 fire incidents were reported to fire departments in Xiamen.

Of the total fires, 30.53% of them were indoors, and outdoor fire incidents caused by trash and cars accounted for 26.72% and 10.69% of the total, respectively. Mountain fire incidents occupied 3.82% of the total fire incidents and other fire incidents caused by lamps, electricity lines and other items accounted for 28.24% of the total.

The indoor fire incidents mainly included residential house fires and factory fires, and the residential house fires were mainly caused by home appliances.
According to the Xiamen Fire Fighting Department, fire incidents usually occur more in dry weather, especially in the current windy winter weather, and most of the indoor fire incidents were caused by careless residents who forgot to turn off power supply’s in their homes.
Discarded cigarette butts are also among the main causes of fire incidents.
