A Zhengzhou government delegation, from Zhengzhou city, Henan province, including its deputy mayor, Li Gongle, arrived in Pingtan on March 19 to visit the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone and discuss its development plans and industry incubation with administration committee officials, Pingtan Times reported.

Zhou Qingsong, a Party working committee member and deputy director of the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, said that Pingtan, with its location advantages, has been granted many preferential policies by the central government, including customs supervision and tax and financial regulations in order to further develop the west coast of the Straits.

In the last three years, Pingtan has made breakthroughs in infrastructure construction and system innovation, establishing a great foundation for cross-Straits cooperation, Zhou continued. It is worth noting that the construction in Pingtan centers on a low-carbon strategy to build Pingtan into an ecological island.

The delegation appreciated Pingtan’s development efforts and agreed that Pingtan’s industry incubation operations, flexible financing methods and innovative planning philosophy could serve as an important reference for constructing new development zones in Zhengzhou.
