The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) may get a new university branch campus, according to ptnet.cn on March 31.

This idea came from Shen Guanghui's visit to Pingtan on March 28, who is the vice president of the Open University of Fujian (OUF). Shen talked about education cooperation with Zhou Qingsong, deputy director of PCPZ's administrative committee.

The vice president expressed their intention of opening a branch in the zone and presented the initial plan of campus construction.

Zhou Qingsong introduced local government's plan to promote education and said that they are pleased to have the branch of OUF, which will help boost the zone's continuing education, community education as well as lifelong education.

The deputy director also said that it will be of great significance to Pingtan's higher education development, and will enhance the overall educational level.

Meanwhile, local government vowed to give strong support to the construction and development of the campus.
